Hamas to Give Remains of Four Israeli Captives
In an official declaration, the Qassam Brigades—the armed faction of Hamas—confirmed that the bodies of Guy Illouz, Yossi Sharabi, Bipin Joshi, and Daniel Perez will be returned. The statement did not provide further details on the location or process of the transfer.
Earlier on Monday, Hamas released 20 living Israeli hostages in return for the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinian detainees.
This exchange marks a major component of the initial phase of the ceasefire agreement.
The initial phase of this ceasefire was implemented on Friday, following a proposal put forward by US President Donald Trump to bring an end to a two-year-long Israeli conflict in Gaza.
According to reports, more than 67,800 Palestinians—predominantly women and children—have lost their lives in Gaza due to Israeli military operations since October 2023.
The ongoing violence has rendered much of the region unfit for habitation, creating a severe humanitarian crisis.
