Jordan welcomes new group of child patients from Gaza
The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) reported that 34 patients and 78 accompanying relatives were transported to Jordanian hospitals for treatment, coordinated with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Since its launch in March 2025, the initiative has facilitated the evacuation of 911 individuals, including 266 patients and 645 companions, via multiple land and air transfers to receive medical care.
The program was announced by King Abdullah during a meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House on February 11, 2025, targeting the treatment of 2,000 children from Gaza in successive phases.
The Jordan Medical Corridor is part of a wider set of efforts by the Kingdom to support Gaza.
Jordan operates two military field hospitals in Gaza: one in the north, established in 2009 after the 2008 war, and a second in Khan Younis in the south, set up in November 2023 during the peak of the Israeli attacks following October 7, 2023. Additionally, a Jordanian field hospital in Nablus was established in late November 2023.
Other humanitarian initiatives include the deployment of a mobile bakery, in partnership with the World Central Kitchen, producing 3,500 loaves of bread per hour for Gaza residents. Jordan also runs land and air aid corridors, the Restoring Hope Initiative providing prosthetics for amputees, and evacuations of critical patients to Jordanian hospitals.
This latest batch highlights Jordan’s ongoing commitment to provide medical and humanitarian support to Palestinians affected by conflict.
