Israeli forces carry out three incursions in Southern Syria’s Quneitra
One patrol, consisting of three vehicles, moved from the entrance of Bir Ajam toward the villages of Bariqa and Kudna in southern Quneitra, as reported by the Syrian news agency.
Another unit, composed of 12 military vehicles, entered Saida al-Hanout via the Tal Abu Ghaithar crossing before proceeding along the road to Ruzaniyah and then to Sayda al-Golan.
The news agency reported that Israeli soldiers set up a roadblock at the western junction of Sayda al-Golan, while another force briefly entered a village, searched a residence, and then withdrew.
The raids took place despite the announcement of a new U.S.-mediated round of talks between Damascus and Tel Aviv aimed at reviving the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. There was no immediate response from either the Israeli army or Syrian authorities regarding Tuesday’s incursions.
Reports note that Israeli forces have been conducting near-daily operations in Quneitra, including detaining civilians, establishing checkpoints, questioning passersby, and damaging farmland. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel reportedly expanded its control over the Syrian Golan Heights by taking over the demilitarized buffer zone, in breach of the 1974 agreement with Syria.
