Israeli Drone Targets Vehicle in Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) The Israeli military executed a drone strike on Sunday, hitting a vehicle in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, according to reports from Lebanese media.

A state-operated news agency stated that a vehicle moving between the towns of Barish and Maaroub in the Tyre region was struck by an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

No additional information was disclosed concerning potential casualties or the extent of the damage.

This strike occurs against the backdrop of repeated Israeli breaches of a ceasefire agreement reached with Lebanon in November 2024. Israel has maintained that it continues to target Hezbollah infrastructure.

These ceasefire violations have resulted in hundreds of Lebanese being killed or injured, while Israel continues to occupy five Lebanese hilltops captured during the most recent conflict, alongside other territories it has controlled for decades.

Israel launched military operations against Lebanon in October 2023, which escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024, resulting in over 4,000 fatalities and 17,000 injuries.
