Erdogan Accuses Israel of Undermining Two-State Solution
"Through its unlawful and expansionist policies since the declaration signed on Oct. 10, the Netanyahu administration has once again demonstrated that it does not seek peace and is not in favor of a solution," Erdogan said while addressing ambassadors in Ankara.
He highlighted the continued humanitarian crisis in Gaza, noting that aid deliveries face obstacles while Israel reportedly carries out systematic attacks on the population. "While we are breaking our fast at this table of friendship and brotherhood, extremely grave events are taking place in our region and around the world. Despite the agreement signed in Gaza on Oct. 10, the humanitarian tragedy on the ground continues," Erdogan said.
The president reported that in the past five months, more than 640 Gazans have been killed in Israeli attacks, with nearly 2,000 others injured.
Erdogan also criticized Israel’s policies in the West Bank, citing last month’s land registration decision as evidence of ongoing occupation and expansion. He stated that since Oct. 7, 2023, more than 1,120 Palestinians have died and nearly 12,000 have been injured in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The Turkish leader condemned what he described as extrajudicial killings, forced displacements, demolitions, and the broader impacts of occupation, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the humanitarian and political crises affecting Palestinians.
