Israeli Army Reports Soldier Killed in Southern Lebanon Clashes

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced on Monday that one of its soldiers had been killed and three others injured during operations in southern Lebanon, as fighting with Hezbollah continues alongside accusations of ongoing ceasefire breaches.

According to the army, the wounded include one soldier in critical condition, while two others sustained light injuries. All three were evacuated to hospital for medical care following the incident.

As stated by reports, the casualties were linked to an overnight drone strike attributed to Hezbollah.

The incident occurred against the backdrop of continued Israeli military activity in Lebanon, despite a ceasefire that initially came into force on April 17 and was later prolonged for an additional 45 days starting May 17 after indirect US-mediated negotiations.

Meanwhile, according to Lebanese health authorities, Israeli strikes carried out since March 2 have resulted in more than 3,400 deaths across Lebanon.
