Israeli Army Says Hezbollah Drone Strike Kills Soldier in Southern Lebanon
The army identified the soldier as Staff Sergeant Michael Tyukin, 21, saying in a brief statement that he “fell in combat in southern Lebanon.” A military spokesperson told AFP that he was killed in a Hezbollah drone strike.
The announcement brings the total number of Israeli fatalities since early March to 25, including 24 soldiers and one civilian contractor, according to reports.
The broader escalation between Israel and Hezbollah resumed on March 2, when hostilities reportedly reignited after the Shiite group reopened the front in response to Israeli-US strikes, further intensifying the regional conflict.
