Iran Declares Halt to Israel Strikes, Warns Stronger Action Over Lebanon

(MENAFN) Iran announced on Monday that it was ending its military operations against Israel, while cautioning that any further Israeli attacks on Lebanon would trigger a far harsher response.

In a statement carried by reports, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said, "Following the aggressions and evils of the brutal Zionist regime in South Lebanon and the Dahiya region, which took place with the support of the criminal America, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran gave a painful response to this regime in order to support the oppressed people of Lebanon."

The statement added that Israel and its allies "should have learned" lessons from Tehran's retaliation.

"On this basis, the cessation of armed forces operations is announced.”

Despite declaring an end to the attacks, Iranian military officials warned that "if the aggressions and evils continue, including in South Lebanon, much more severe and crushing measures will be on the way.”

The latest escalation followed Israeli airstrikes on Beirut on Sunday despite an existing ceasefire. In response, Iran launched missiles toward northern Israel, while Israel subsequently carried out multiple rounds of strikes against targets inside Iran.
