Gwyneth Paltrow Draws Criticism Over Israeli Luxury Housing Promotion

(MENAFN) Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow has come under fire after taking part in an advertising campaign promoting an upscale residential development in Israel.

The 53-year-old actress was featured as the public face of "51 PARK," a luxury housing project located in the coastal city of Herzliya and developed by an Israeli real estate firm.

In the promotional video, Paltrow is seen getting ready for the day inside an elegant apartment while emphasizing the appeal of living close to green spaces.

"There's a reason the world's most iconic buildings are by a park," she says in the advertisement, before instructing her driver to take her to the featured property.

The campaign quickly generated intense debate across social media, where critics questioned the timing of the endorsement. Many users accused the actress of being "tone-deaf" and "complicit" given the ongoing conflict involving Israel in Gaza and Lebanon.

According to Palestinian figures, nearly 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 173,000 wounded since October 2023, with women and children accounting for the majority of the casualties.
