MVP Ventures Deepens Ties With South Korean Investor Community as Managing Partner Weston Moyer Visits Seoul

The early-stage venture firm will discuss its investment track record, 14% unicorn rate, and strategy at the intersection of AI, hardware, and software

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 13, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MVP Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests alongside leading venture firms in companies at the intersection of AI, hardware, and software, today announced that Managing Partner Weston Moyer will visit South Korea from September 13-18 to meet with existing and prospective limited partners (LPs) in Seoul. The visit will focus on deepening MVP’s relationships with the South Korean investment community and sharing the firm’s investment track record, portfolio growth, and strategy for identifying the next generation of category-defining companies.

Moyer arrives in South Korea as MVP approaches its sixth anniversary with a growing track record of identifying companies early that go on to become category leaders. Since 2020, MVP has deployed approximately $678 billion South Korean won and made 130 investments, 20 of which have reached unicorn status, representing a 14% unicorn hit rate. The portfolio includes companies such as Anduril, Saronic, Stoke Space, Wispr Flow, and Turing. The firm has also produced three consecutive top-decile funds, including Fund II, which ranks in the top 5% by TVPI.

MVP believes the current technology cycle is expanding opportunity. As AI moves beyond software and into the physical world, advances in computing are creating new opportunities across robotics, defense, data center infrastructure, and energy. MVP has built its portfolio around identifying companies early in these markets and investing alongside leading venture firms.

“Korea has the potential to become the next Israel for global technology companies,” said Weston Moyer, co-founder and managing partner of MVP Ventures. “The technical talent is already there, and our Korean LP relationships give us a bridge between the two markets. Pair that with U.S. go-to-market, sales and partnerships, and you have the ingredients to build companies for the global market. Those are the founders we want to back. If you have an exceptional technical team in Korea and ambitions to build for the U.S. and global markets, we want to talk to you.”

South Korean investors have been important partners in MVP’s growth since the firm was founded. Today, five LPs from the country represent approximately 15% of Fund II’s capital, including investors from three of its 15 largest companies. Moyer’s visit is intended to build on that support and deepen relationships with both existing and prospective investors.

The emphasis on long-term partnership extends to how MVP works with its portfolio companies. The firm supports founders across go-to-market, talent, government, and capital markets, an approach that has led founders to repeatedly invite MVP into subsequent rounds and, in many cases, increase the firm’s allocation as their companies grow.
